Meet Paddy!

Meet Paddy O'Patric, Yes i know slightly racist name. He fought with the french in 1798, after the rebellion was crushed, he fled to Frence, he has a particular hateret for Irish in british service. He therefore get +1 in mele and accuracy if he knows the enemy soldier is Irish.

 This is Liutenant Henry Swallow, his father was a light Bob in the american rebellion, and growing up listening to his farthers stories of light infantry combat, he always wanted to be one, His father is well off has he owns a successfull factory. So he bought his son, a commision in the 52nd. He comes from a familiy of free thinkers, and is more liberal then many officers in the army. but also slightly naiv. when it comes to combat. He is also worried that he will not live up to his father bravery.

Giants stomp the land

 Got my 54mm Napoleonics, did the first two figures, not super happy with the resaults.
I did spent alot of time on them, takes about a day to do each one. Given they are 54mm i felt i had to put in some effort. So the blue on the french, and red and white on the british had 5 layers, the problems was finding the right shades, it was easy enough for the french i just used the french triad, and stuck in one color inbetween french A and french B , and finnaly a hight light after French c. but the brit is hard.

I have the dark brick red, I have to use to cover, or they other reds won't sit well.
But finding the right mixes is hard.

 I did the french as a Legere voltigeur, simply because I love the blue, so lots of it. I'll give both the french and british a propper Peninsula feel, so lots of non standard colors,

 The brit got his light infantry head, Of they 16 i got of brits half will be 52nd light and the other 23rd foot.

The Nam man, the nam

Man talk about troubled project.
The figure it self is superb, perfect anatomy and great detail, BUT it's made of VERY VERY brittle resin, resin is fine for square buildings, but for a thin delicate M16 it sucks, when I tried to cut the M16 from it's spure it broke in 3, later it broke another part, when breaking it explodes and the parts vanish into my apartment and impossible to find again, the barrle tim and carry handle disapeard for good, the barrle was rebuildt with green stuff, I didn't have the skills to make a flash hinder, so it's just a little barrle. the carry handle was a totaly diffrent beast, I tried for 4 days to make it out of green stuff, couldnt get t thin and small enough, I then started to look for random things to make it out of, I tried to use some white metal flash for metal soldiers to make it, but it's didn't work, in the end, I had to use part of a paper clip, I globed green stuff on the top of the M16 and glued the paper clip part to the top, not perfect, but it was atleast thin enough, I also had to glue the M16 it self togeather with green stuff, so it ended up very fat and buldgy and most of the fine detail disapeard on it.

The figue is inspired by Chris, Charlie Sheen's charater in Platoon, the Bravo 6 company that makes them also have a Barnes, and Elisja ect.

I tried to make him as dirty and missrable as possible.

Wild Bill Hickok, sort of

Ok this Pegaso model is called gunslinger, but he has a striking reseblance to Wild Bill Hickok.
The picture of the model on the pegaso site has a realy nice striped pants, and I tried and tried to make it striped, but i just couldn't get it right, either the stripes got fat and ugly and wigely, or the paint dried on the tip of the brush before I could make a stripe.




Anyway the guy has a nice yellow vest, a light medium blue coat, lighter blue pants, his two colt navy revolvers with ivory grips.
The guy is very colorfull, mabye to colorfull, but I wanted the rich gunslinge feel, a guy with expencive colorfull clothes

The bankrober is easly the best, Wild bill is a far second and the bounty killer on the right a clear third, but they are all sevral steps about anything els I've done

More western, and scale comparesing

Ok this is a romeo 54mm bought from the pageso webshop the fig is in the same style as pegaso, in other words fantasic models.
This guy didn't turn out as good as the pegaso, I did the coat sand with black trimmings, didn't work out that well. I used kaki for shading the coat which I do think worked well.





The reason the model didn't turn out that well, was that I didn't get the bandolere right, or the other leather work for that mater, to much clutter and not enough skill to make it look good. The cartridges in the bandolere didn't look good, the leather it self didn't look good ect.
And as useual the face sucks, on the positive side the the pants turned out realy well, and the gun belt turned out ok

Lets rob a bank

Ok, a 54mm bankrober from pegaso models.

I'm VERY happy with this guy, except for the eyes which look silly

The leather looks like leather, the trousers have both shades and highlights even got them to look worn.

Gave him crome revolvers, probebly a succsesfull rober, I feel for the first time I can't blame the paints or anything els, the paints did what I wanted them to do. So this is basicly my best.

The bank desk is a bit bland I tried sevral ways to make it looks like real wanished wood, but it turned out badly, so I just made it look like painted wood.
