Le Moyen Boom Boom

A Victrix 8pdr cannon. This is what I had left of the crew from an old project, I still have a cannon but no crew for it. I felt the apple green was to light, even though I used the foundry triad. But a wash of agrax earthshade fixes that(seriously is there anything that wash can't fix?)

After a break of over a month from March to April, I've now managed to throw out a few blog post the last month, so I'm happy about that.

Small horse boom boom.

A 6pdr Horse artillery base. I hope to do an entire battery in the future. But I plan on doing two and two. And add limbers, as it looked so good on my Austrian cannon. The Perry limber team is a huge 6 horse thing.

I'm happy with these except the blue coat is a downer. The trousers are great the belts, the braid. But I don't like the blue I did there.

A good view of the nasty 1796 Light cavalry.

Die Kleine Boom Boom

Trucking away at my SYW Winter Project.

This time I did an Austrian 6pdr with limber.

I've never done limbers for my artillery, I've always just wanted to get on with it, I mean a limber doesn't add a unit, the so it's just money and time I could spend on more cannon, infantry or cavalry
But it does look good with a limber, I don't think I'll use limbers for my Napoleonic project. Given the batteries are like 3-6 cannon and I'll have like 2 or 3 batteries. But for my SYW project and maybe my GNW project it will be easier given less cannon. I plan on adding an ammo wagon.  Having this equipment not only looks good but adds to the footprint of the artillery, which is realistic.

The Crew, Gun and equipment are all Minden miniatures.
A big kudos to Minden and Jim, for going above and beyond in customer service.

Le Petite Boom Boom.

Well to be fair 12pdr isn't very Petit, but it is next to the French Italian Wars gun I recently painted.
Though I have no idea about the actual poundage of that gun, the gun itself is giant, but I don't know its actual calibre.

This is a 12pdr Vallière French cannon, the first of part of my Winter offensive.

I still have 2 more French/Austrian Guns
1 French and 2 Austrian battalions.
At least 3 French/Austrian cavalry units.

2 Prussian Battalions and 6 highlander figures to paint.
Expanding several 8 figure cavalry units to 12.

I didn't do anything fancy on the base.
I again just the Blue 6 paint set from   Andrea color.
But I only used 4 of them, dropping the two last highlights.
The cannon got 3 layers of Reaper paints ultra marine blue, but only used a mix of the first and second colour in various rations, so not to make it too light.

Up next will be the 6 highlanders.

Le big boom boom.

Or translated from caveman french;  big cannon.

A standard foundry cannon with crew, this cannon is probably ubiquitous in all Italian war projects in 28mm.

Nothing much to say, I might have overdone the purple, but I wanted to try out my new purple triad.
By far the best cannon carriage I've managed to do.

Next up is mosty likely the last 6 Landsknecht pikes, to complete the front bases for the pike block.
Followed by some men at arms.
