I once was lost

And I'm still kinda fucking lost.

Since may I've done 3 units; Prussian cuirassiers, Glotz dragoons, and the Russian Narvska battalion.
In the same period I have painted; 12 French line Napoleonic Line infantry, 3 French Napoleonic Dragoons. 12 Landsknecht, 6 Swedish Musketeers, 6 English musketeers, 6 Polish winged hussars.  On top of that, I have almost finished 6 Austrian SYW Musketeers. No units done. I've been bouncing all over the place. I literally had only a couple of hours left of work on the last 6 landskencht to finish the 18 I had planned, which would have let me finish the 54 strong pike block. But noo had to do other stuff. I was so sure I would be able to finish the 12 Polish hussars. but nope. the next 3 horses are half done....

But I finally did finish something. I had 6 warfare cavalry laying around they were supposed to be Saxon Cuirassiers. Instead, they are now the Dutch regiment Saxe-Heilburg. My WSS project has gotten way too little love. While my Saxons and Danes can be used for WSS. So far the only pure WSS units I have are 1 Dutch battalion and 2 French Squadrons.

So this was an attempt to remedy that.

The unit is really Cuirassier, so the cuirass, is painted as buff coat.
I like the light grey I've managed to do.
Given that the Dutch regiments were mostly 2 squadrons, this is it. Only 6 strong.
Flags is ordered. But not sent yet.

Project leftover/tidy up part 1

So I have sevral figures from a pervious WSS project. And since it's hard times(even tho I use to much money of figures anyway) I decided to paint up these figures. First up is the Dutch regiment Pallandt, I was missing 7 figures, I painted up the ones I had and orderd 6 more from Ebor, I forgot about the 7th and asked if Ebor could bill me for the last, He didn't, but sent the 7th along anyway! Great service and unbeatable prices!  I like the look of these figures, tho I feel they look better on the pictures then real life. Not quite happy with the last highlight of light grey.

Next up on Project left over will be Prussian WSS unit, they won't be as tidy, but more on that when they are finished!

I'm running out of basing stuff, so the bases are kinda boring

Friesland and Friesheim

So I've now used up all my Warfare miniature figures!! In the ned the total was  91 figures. Here are 50 of them.
Friesheim You've seen before, Now they are joined by Friesland, Which I think look better simply for the fact they aren't white, much easier to work with the blue and red.

So I had to diffrent sources for Friesland, one said dark blue and red, one said sky blue and red. I decided to do light blue but not quite sky blue. Mostly because I've had this blue triad a long while and never used it propperly. The color is actualy Napoleoinc Prussian Gun carrage blue. So these are painted in gun carrage blue.... Poor bastards, someone might try and fit a 12pdr on their heads.

I'm probebly taking a painting brake, partly as I'm out of figures I want to paint, and party as I'm out of primer and my main brush died.  AND I want to play some computergames ect, I've been is sutch a grove painting I didn't want to play that many games. So I'll Take a break.

I really like how they turned out. Oh and out of this unit of 25 figures I think something like 22-23 of them are uniqe. Only a couple of repeates. Thats quite fantastic.

 And the two units togeather.

As promised

So regular programing has returned. Two WIPs the first one is Dutch foot guards(blue gards) I'm not happy with them, I'm so out of practice, felt they were sloppy done.

The dutch guards should have some lace on their soldiers, but close enough.
I did them in the apropriate red and blue, even tho I was tempted to do them in the William of Orange, yellowish and blue. But by 1704 they almost definatly used the red and blue, abit anoying. while dark blue and red is very cool mix. I wanted to keep the blue dark, so I only used the french foundry triad, I normaly add a even lighter highlight. But wanted them dark so only the triad.

I also wanted the red to be clear and rich, so I did not shade or high light it, only one color of rich red.

This was to make the red and blue contrast as much as possible.

The second WIP that I actualy painted like a month ago now. Is a bravarian unit, I did the first base long ago, and started on the command base, but got so bored, not sure why I've spent like weeks trying to finish it, got so bored I finished the whole of the prince george unit, then didn't paint, left for my girlfriend, and did the first base of the dutch guards. Now I have to finish that command base.
