Ship ahoy

 So I've been a busy little bee. My forces have grown, the total number is now 68 ships.
The ships are mostly from 3 sources, two of the sources are home made stuff from talented garage producers. the last source is ebay micro machines.

I's kinda fun hunting star trek ships on ebay, first you go to memory alpha or other star trek source, find the dimention of the class of ship you want, they give the figure in actual meters, so a bird og prey is 140 meters ect. you then devide it by 7000 and multiply by a 100 and you get the size of a 1:7000 scale version of the ship in cm. you then go online and try and find a ship model that fit this size as close as possible. The nebula and excelsior class ships are slighlty off, the excelsiour is to big, while the nebula is to small. but my vorcha are just right.

My klingon fleet is now 25 ships, 1 negh'var, 4 vor'cha and 20 birds of prey.

 My federation fleet isn't really a fleet yet, but might be call a task force.

 The klingons do look good on masse don't they?

 I really like the nebula class ship, it has the scaucar section of a galaxy, but much smaller star drive section. But I really like the look of it.

Now I have to learn the rules, as I have more then enough ships to play now, but the rules I've choosen are alot of numbers and so my brain melts.

More Trek

 So it's stange, normaly I buy dozens or even hundreds of figures at a time, and naturaly they take along time to paint, even 6 15mm takes hours to paint, and a full 36 figure battalion takes days to finish.
But these ships take much shorter time, many of them are so small it's limited how detailed you can get them, even the biggers one are limited based how they look on the show

This is the Dominions ships, 13 attack ships(still got 7 left) 3 cruisers and 1 attack cruiser.

 The federation ships, I got these of ebay, later I learned they were from a re caster, he steals other peoples models and just recasts them sell them on ebay, I even learned who he has stolen them from, naturaly I feel bad, and won't do any moe buisness with this "gentlemen" One intrepid, one miranda, the defiant is from the same man that makes the dominion ships, so that was is clean. but the two others are tanited.

 The dominion, are hard to paint, you never get really a good look, one episode they look purple, another they look more metal, so I did a mix of purple and metal, and metal purple.

All the ships I got, I ran out of flight stands, so waiting for the next shippment for them.

To boldly go were no one has gone before.

 So I'm a life long trekkie, it started as a small kid when one of the norwegian stations showed TNG, it was before I could understand english and before I could read the subtiltes on norwegian, but I knew I liked it. And to this day TNG is still my favorite of the trek series, I now got all the movies and series on dvd or bluray. I usualy start on TOS, then go on to TNG, ds9 and voyager, I usualy skip enterprise because well I hate it. But TOS-voy is some 600 episodes and 10 movies, it takes quite some times go go through it, but they are on my continues playlist, along with SG1, Babylon 5, Atlantis.

I'm now on the last few episodes of DS9, and naturaly anybody doing star trek wargaming, DS9 is the holy grail, I still think the space battles in season 6-7 of DS9 is the best space ship battles of any series or movie ever made, better then B5, Stargate ect.

So now it's finnaly time to do star trek wargaming, it did take quite a while sorting out were to get what.

These are from the same guy, not really sure if I should say were I got them or not for legal reasons.

Most trekkies should see what these are, unless I did a horrible paint job.

 My plan is 3 rather lagre fleets, klingon, dominion/cardassians and federation.
The federation ships are the hardest to get a hold of.

 The klingons do love their birds of prey, small powerfull and fast, but can't take much of a punishment, but that only means you go to stovakor faster. I do have some of the bigger hitters for the klingons on the way. The dominions are kinda like the klingons, they have those small attack ships, but also som bigger stuff.

The federation kinda likes to keep their troops alive, so they generaly have bigger ships and more defences. One on one the federation ships will win almost all the time aginst a dominion ship, but the dominion have the numbers on their side.

If  i get a hold of them I'll add breen and romulans to later.

One big ass mofo!

 This is a sorylian dreadnought, I paitned this in the same style as the other capital ships, silver/gold/purple.

 It's not that much longer then the smaller capital ship, but about 50% taller.

 This is the dreadnought next to a terrain frigate. If you say the frigate is 150 meters long, which is the size of the biggest modern frigates. then the dreadnought would be about 600 meters long and about 170 meters tall. About 75 meters wide or  7650000 cubic meters. Or alot bigger then say the one of the twin towers, probebly big enough to have some 30 000 crew. so lets not hope in runs into a moon or something, 30 000 sorylians would die!!

I've started up on the firestorm armada stuff. I've been working on the Soyrilian collective.

I like purple so I gave them a purple theme.

 The big ship the capital one, is more elaborate, the idea is that the cruisers and frigates are a dime a dozen. so they get simple gun metal stuff, while the capital ships that are fewer and more important, get gold and silver color.

 So there is simple color, gun metal, then ink armor over the metal, then metal highlights again. then purple and finally a yellow stripe.

 While the bigger capital gets gold/bronze then silver, finally purple and white stripe.

 And there is the terrains and aquan,

 The aquan get their turquoise, water theme.

 While the terrains get their more human millitary color, more grey drab stuff.

 I've decided to divide the terrain fleets into legions, each legion gets a diffrent theme, this one has blue as you can see, the other might have green or red ect. A legion can be combined into a proper fleet.

 I bought all these ships because I thought they looked cool, turned out all these 3 races are actualy in the same alliance  So I need AT LEAST as many ships from the other alliance.

 I'm gonna run out of colors soon, sea grey for terrains, purple for the sorylians, and geen/turquoise for the aquan. So I need to fin other colors for the other races to make each unique. 

Long time no see!

 

Hello, my fellow internet inhabitants, I've been away for a long time, what happened was, during the summer I stopped taking som drugs for my angtiaty, I did this early in the summer, and spent most of the summer going through withdrawal, then a month went by and nothing happened, then right after I painted those AWI figures, the last of the drugs left my system and I changed drasticaly, apernatly the drugs had been effecting me quite a bit, suddnely I was clearer in the head, I had more energy, I started to work out, I started to eat a little healthier, I ate alot less, In just two weeks I lost 9 kg, went down 3 trouser sizes ect. So all good, except I suddenly realised how lonely I was, the drugs had suppressed my loneliness. So I stopped painting, I stopped watching my tv and even gaming on my computer, I decided I needed friends(and girl friend) I went to a forum, and just started to talk to people, got som online friends, and now I'm invited to the forum christmas party. 

I fitted in on the forum quite well, then after a few months, I started to talk to this girl, we hit it off, she lives 13 hours away by train, but we just fell for each other. Love at first chat so to speak.  

I've met a few times, spent a romantic weekend in Trondheim. So my life has changed drasticaly in a few months. 

After several months, I started to play games and watch tv again, but not as much as I used to do, for a while I thought about packing up my gaming table, and store away all my figures. but I've decided not to do it. but I will be scaling back, right now I'm trying to sell my ancients, the problem is I'm asking £1800, thats alot of money, but I think they are worth it, thats about £6 a foot figure, and I think my paint job on the ancients are good enough to warrant that, when you remember the figures cost £1.1 with out the paint job. But still, not allot of people got £1800 laying around. There is also the question of sending them, those phalangites with their pikes are hard to pack down safely.

So that's what I've been doing the last few months. But last time my "girlfriend" was here she said my apartment was way to cluttered, so I'm now going crazy fixing it up for her next visit. I've put several big boxed in the basement and I spent all day yesterday clearing the gaming table. 

So this is what my table looks like now.

 Just vacume of space and ships, I'm in a real spaceship mood, as I'm playing sword of the stars 2 and EVE online.

 So some capital ships are here, a aquan battle ship and terrain battleship, while the aquan was rather quick to paint, the tarrain tko A LONG time, probebly jsut as long as 8 28mm figures, the aquan ships is just like their othwers

 The terrain battleship on other hand have lots of details, you have 36 side cannons, 18 on each side, then you have 8 turrets, each demanding some detail, The big turret guns, first got gun metal, then magic metal, then gold, and finnaly silver. So it does take some time. The slightly small guns, get gun metal, magic metal and gold. While the smallest get only gun metal. The front guns get gunmetal, with trim of magic metal and gold on the tip.

 The colors besides the guns, is a mix of green grey, sea grey, grey, and blue

Ships

 First some cudoes to Spartan Games, I orderd my ships on Monday, They were sent on Tuesday, and today DHL called me up and delived the package, I didn't even know it had been sent with DHL, as I had free shipping, and expected regular snail mail.

 So I got quite a few ships, as well as the rule book. I got about 12 frigates, 4 cruisers and 2 battleships pr. side. So far I've painted 3 frigates and 2 cruisers from each side. One side is Terrein, the other is Aquan , this are actualy acording to the rule book allies, but they look so diffrent they make fine enemies.

 The terrain ships are painted mainly in green gray, which looks good for human based ships. Kinda looks like 20th centuary naval ships. To the right, some terrein frigates.

 I did the aquan in aquamarine/turqouise The weapon systems are all red, I pretend they are like beam crystals, so you can see they have plenty of beams, but the main beam is the front, The silver/metal is what I imagien new plates that replaced combat damage, and have not gotten the paint jet.

 I like the color, it's colorfull and look alien.

 The terreins, do have some colorfull blue trimmings, to break up the boring green gray.

 I also painted some mid grey on the bigger ships, and metal on the gun turrets.

 So These ships are not that big, all of them are less then 8cm long, the ships get bigger, with the terrain battleship beeing almost 18cm long.
